Why is moire (interference fringes) generated in an image?

Answer

Moire (interference fringes) is generated by the occurrence of optical interference 
between patterns with such as a blind and a pitch of pixels of a sensor.  
 
Moire (Interference fringes) can be reduced by changing the distance to a subject or 
by making sharpness (aperture) weak.
